Frequently Asked Questions

  • What’s the difference between a programmable and a smart thermostat?

A programmable thermostat follows locally set heating schedules, while a smart thermostat may add functions such as app control, remote access, automation and additional system monitoring.

  • Can one thermostat control both radiators and underfloor heating?

It can in some simple systems, but independently controlled radiator and UFH zones normally require separate thermostats or zone controls so each area can operate as required.

  • Do wireless thermostats need a separate receiver?

Most wireless thermostats communicate with a receiver or compatible wireless wiring centre connected to the heating system. Check what components are included with the specific thermostat.
